India won both the gold Medals in under 12 section with top seed Pragganananda overcoming stiff resistance from compatriot Raunak Sadhwani. In the girls section, Divya Deshmukh, who had earlier won gold and silver in Blitz and Rapid Championships respectively, completed the formalities by drawing her last round game and taking her tally to eight points.
The other Indian to win gold is Anwesha Mishra, who was seeded 5th in the starting rank but caused a major upset by winning the event with one round to spare.
Mitrabha Guha upset the top seed Tsogbayar of Mongolia but had to contend with 7th position on lower tie break.
