Fuel consumption in September spiked to 14.699 million tonnes, up 15.1 per cent from 12.771 million tonnes in a the same month a year ago, according to a data from Oil Ministry's Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC).
Diesel, the most consumed fuel in the country, saw sales jump 20.1 per cent to 5.886 million tonnes.
Petrol consumption soared 25.4 per cent to 1.879 million tonnes, while cooking gas (LPG) demand was up 4.1 per cent at 1.614 million tonnes.
