Special Assistant to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Tariq Fatemi also condemned India's human rights violations in Kashmir; called for international community's attention towards India's "belligerent and aggressive designs".
"Fatemi also condemned the stated intent of India to use water as a weapon against the people of Pakistan, in flagrant violation of its international treaty obligations. He charged that such an action could only be contemplated by an irresponsible state," Pakistan Foreign Office here said in a statement.
Pakistan had earlier warned the unilateral revocation of the Indus treaty by India will be considered as an 'act of war'.
Characterizing India's claim as "ridiculous", Fatemi said that the Jammu and Kashmir is recognised by the United Nations as an international dispute between two sovereign member-states.
He called upon the Muslim community to continue its support for the Kashmiris in their just struggle for the right of self-determination.
He "called for fair, independent and transparent inquiry into the grave human rights violations by the Indian security forces in Kashmir".
