An Indian man was today sentenced to a month in jail in the UAE for making a hoax call that a bomb was about to explode at Dubai International Airport.
The 36-year-old man, identified only by initials SS, called Dubai police from his hotel room and told them the bomb at the airport.
The man, claimed to be a Pakistani and transiting through Dubai, checked into a hotel on December 31 and consumed alcohol illegally, prosecutors told a court.
He was also fined 2,000 dirhams (USD 544.51) for consuming alcohol without a licence, media here reported.
