Indian wrestlers win 16 medals at Junior Asian c'ship

Indian grapplers finished with an impressive haul of 16 medals, including three gold, at the Junior Asian Freestyle, Greeco-Roman and Female Wrestling championship at Nay Pyi Taw in Myanmar.
The Indian team's performance has won them 68 Champion Trophy points, while the Greeco-Roman team finished runners-up with 59 points at the July 9-12 championship.
In Men's Freestyle category, the Indians claimed a total of eight medals with Ravi Kumar bagging the yellow metal in 55kg division.
Bharat Patil (50kg) and Vikas (66kg) won the silver medals, while Amit (60kg), Dinesh (74kg), Parveen (84kg), Rubal Jeet (96kg) and Manjeet (120kg) settled for a bronze each.
The Greco-Roman team earned India two gold, one silver and a bronze. Ravinder (60kg) and Mehar Singh (120kg) topped in their respective weight divisions to help India finish second in Greco-Roman category.
The women's team also did well, winning four medals -- one silver and three bronze.
"I congratulate all the medal winners for their performance in the Junior Wrestling championship and also appreciate the contribution of the support staff. I think this is just a beginning for us, we are focusing on getting more and more talent from the grassroots so that we can get future stars for the country," WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh said.

Men's Freestyle:
Gold - Ravi Kumar (55kg)
Silver - Bharat Patil (50kg) and Vikas (66kg)
Bronze - Amit (60kg), Dinesh (74kg), Parveen (84kg), Rubal Jeet (96kg) and Manjeet (120kg).
Greeco Style:
Gold - Ravinder (60kg) and Mehar Singh (120kg).
Silver - Manish (55kg)
Bronze - Rahul (84kg)
Female Wrestling:
Silver - Sarita (59kg)
Bronze - Manisha (63kg), Divya Kakran (67kg) and Pooja (72kg).
