The BJP leader said Modi's overseas trips have enhanced India's stature on the global stage.
"We had Prime Ministers earlier...They used to go to America, England, but Indians living in those countries never knew that their Prime Minister had visited.
"I remember that (then PM) Indira Gandhi had once gone to America to meet its President, there it was 4'o clock. She had to sit and wait in the White House.
The Union Agriculture Minister was speaking at a public meeting here as part of BJP's campaign for the coming Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) polls.
He added that those nations which treated India like a younger brother earlier now look at the country as an equal.
Modi is spreading the ideals of India by his visits to different countries in the world, he said.
