Intense cold conditions persist in HP, MeT predicts dry weather ahead

Intense cold wave conditions persisted in most parts of Himachal as icy winds swept the region under heavily overcast sky but the weather remained dry.
The minimum temperatures fluctuated marginally while maximum temperatures rose by one to two degrees.
The local MeT office has predicted dry weather in the region over the next five days, and rain or snow in the mid and higher hills on February 21.
The tribal areas reeled under piercing cold conditions and Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district recorded minimum and maximum temperatures at minus 8.5 degrees Celsius and 1.9 degrees Celsius.
Manali recorded a low of minus 2.0 degrees Celsius, followed by Kalpa at 0.6 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar at 3.0 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar at 4.1 degrees Celsius, Solan at 4.6 degrees Celsius, Shimla at 5.5 degrees Celsius, Palampur at 5.5 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala at 7.4 degrees Celsius, Una at 8.0 degrees Celsius and Nahan at 8.3 degrees Celsius.
Una was the hottest in the region with a maximum temperature of 24.4 degrees Celsius while Solan and Sundernagar recorded a high of 22.0 degrees Celsius and 21.0 degrees Celsius, respectively, followed by Nahan at 18.6 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar at 17.8 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala at 17.6 degrees Celsius, Shimla at 15.5 degrees Celsius and Manali at 9.8 degrees Celsius.
