Delegates from across the world would take part in the two-day seminar on 'Developments in Mineral Exploration Techniques - Strategy and Challenges' being organised by Society of Geoscientists and Allied Technologists.
"Mineral development is vital to help economic growth of the country. With the development of newer technologies, mineral resources need to be optimally utilised," SGAT President S K Sarangi told reporters here.
Stating that sustainable mining and optimal utilisation of mineral resources were key areas of the country's new mining policy, he said it could be achieved through detailed scientific exploration both in onshore and offshore regions.
