Acting on a tip-off, the Commissioner's Task Force (South Zone) and Central Crime Station sleuths conducted a joint operation and nabbed Rakesh Varma, Ravi Kumar and Mohd Ibrahim for allegedly being involved in ganja smuggling, police said.
While Varma is a native of New Delhi, Kumar hails from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and Ibrahim is a resident of Warangal district in Telangana, they said.
Around 80 kg ganja was seized from them, police said.
During interrogation, the accused confessed that Kumar would buy ganja at Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,000 per kg from agency areas of Visakhapatnam and sell it to agents and customers for Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000 per kg with help from his associates, they added.
