Speaking to mediapersons here today, Chandrasekharan alleged that the labour department in the state was a "total failure" and hence John (representing RSP-B) should be divested of the department and congress should take over the labour department.
He said the INTUC state committee had already given letter to the Chief minister Oommen Chandy and KPCC President V M Sudheeran in this regard.
The labour minister, who should have intervened whenever there was labour disputes in the states, has failed to do anything on such occasions, he alleged.
Recently at Kollam, John had made a scathing attack on Chandrasekharan alleging that his remarks against labour department was the result of frustration of being denied the Lok Sabha seat in Kollam.
