Ramin Salamati said in his complaint to the police today that he met Ritu in Dubai, who used to work there as a dancer in a hotel, in 2010.
According to the complaint, both got closer and Ritu even proposed him for marriage. Later, she returned to India and started pursuing her career, however, both of them remained in touch.
The families of Ritu and Salamati also gave approval to their marriage in 2011, the complainant said.
Salamati alleged that Ritu took cash and gold ornaments from him on the pretext of marriage.
But when he came to India in September last year to tie the knot, she sought more time on one pretext or the other and in November same year, she eloped with another person Hardeep Kumar, the complainant further alleged.
The accused, Ritu and Kumar have been booked under various sections of IPC, police said.
