The carriage train operations between Islamabad and Istanbul will be restored next month, a Pakistani minister said today.
This was decided at a meeting between Pakistan's Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique and Turkish Ambassador Babar Hizlan here.
In the hour-long meeting, it was noted that regional economic connectivity would save time in exporting goods from one country to another.
Rafique said restoration of rail link between Islamabad and Istanbul would strengthen historic bonds of brotherhood and cooperation.
He said Pakistan Railways planned to upgrade the Quetta-Taftan railway track for which investment from Turkish companies would be welcomed, state-run APP news agency reported.
The minister said he would leave no stone unturned to make the Islamabad-Istanbul railway carriage service a success.
