J&K CM hails legislators for highlighting state's issues in

Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today hailed the legislators of Jammu and Kashmir for effectively highlighting the problems confronting the state and its people in the Assembly.
She said many politicians have to risk their lives to reach this House through a democratic process due to the prevailing situation in the Valley.
"Some of the legislators have even sacrificed their lives and I pay my heartfelt tributes to them on this occasion," she said while addressing a function here in connection with conferring of Best Legislator awards for the years 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15.
Mehbooba hailed the legislators for effectively highlighting the problems confronting the state and its people in the House.
She congratulated the legislators who were conferred with Best Legislator awards and thanked them for contributing their prize money of Rs one lakh each to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund in the honour of former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Speaker Kavinder Gupta hailed the staff of the Assembly Secretariat for their untiring efforts in facilitating smooth legislative business, an official spokesman said.
The Best Legislator Award for the year 2012-13 was conferred on Choudhary Zulfkar Ali, Abdul Haq Khan for 2013-14 and G M Saroori for 2014-15.
The award comprises a Gold medal and Rs one lakh cash.
The Letter of appreciation for the year 2012-13 was given to G A Mir (former-MLA), Javid Mustafa Mir (sitting MLA), Jughal Kishore (MP) and Nazir Ahmad Gurezi (Deputy Speaker), the spokesman said.
Mohammad Sharief Niaz (former-MLA), Nizam-ud-Din Bhat (former-MLA), Sheikh Abdul Rashid (sitting MLA) and Sukhnandan Kumar (sitting MLA) won the award for the year 2013-14.
Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, Ashok Khajuria, Rafi Ahmad Mir (former MLA) and Syed Basharat Ahmed Bukhari were the winners for the year 2014-15, the spokesman added.
