"Jammu and Kashmir highway will take 4 to 5 days for restoration," General Officer Commanding (GOC) Northern Command Lieutenant General DS Hooda said here.
He said a stretch of 300 mt has been washed away and efforts were on to plug the breach.
The 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu national highway, connecting Kashmir with the rest of the country, is lying closed for the fifth consecutive day due to landslides and floods at many places following heavy rain during the past one week.
