In a written reply to the question of NC MLA Abdul Rahim Rather in Legislative Assembly, the Minister for Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Syed Basharat Ahmed Bukhari said it is a fact that J&K lies in Seismic zone and almost all districts of Kashmir valley and erstwhile Doda district fall in Seismic Zone-V and the rest of the districts of the state fall in Seismic Zone-IV.
All the departments have prepared inventory of assets available with them, which can be pressed into service as and when required, the minister said.
Also SDRF battalion is being equipped with latest equipments pertaining to search and rescue of trapped persons during earthquakes and floods, he said.
