Jag Mohan is the new Siliguri Police Commissionerate chief
Press Trust of India Kolkata Senior IPS officer Jag Mohan has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Police of Siliguri Police Commissionerate, which fell vacant after the removal of K Jayaraman.
State Secretariat sources said Jag Mohan, an IPS officer of the 1991 batch, who was holding the post of IGP(I), CID, would soon take charge.
Jayaraman, a 1997-batch IPS officer who had arrested Malda District Magistrate G Kiran Kumar and was of the rank of a DIG, has now been put on compulsory waiting by the state government for not consulting his higher-ups before proceeding with the arrest.
Malda DM G Kiran Kumar, who was asked to go on leave by the state government following his alleged involvement in a scam, had already been replaced by Sharad Dwivedi.
In another move, C V Muralidhar, a 1984-batch IPS officer posted as Managing Director, Police Housing Corporation in the state, has also been asked to take over as ADG, Counter Intelligence Force, West Bengal replacing K L Tamta.
Tamta, a 1985-batch IPS officer, would now take over as Managing Director, Police Housing Corporation, sources said.
