The 28-year-old singer-songwriter, who will be performing at the multi-genre music festival Time Out 72 in Goa, says he never misses a chance to eat Indian food.
In a telephonic interview with PTI from Los Angeles, Derulo says, "I am really looking forward to Indian cuisine and I already had it at other places, but I never had Indian food in India. So I'm excited to have some authentic Indian cuisine in India."
The musician is a vegetarian and is looking forward to have rajma and naan during his maiden visit to the country.
The festival will be headlined by "See You Again" hitmaker Wiz Khalifa and Derulo promises the event to be an extravaganza, full of fun and parties.
The singer says he feels blessed that his work gives him a chance to visit some of the most beautiful places on earth, with India being one of them.
"It's incredible and unbelievable. Most of the people don't get a chance to travel around the globe. I feel so privileged and so humbled, especially in a place like India where I have never been."
The "Whatcha Say" hitmaker, whose real name is Jason Joel Desrouleaux, says as a student of music he enjoys collaborating and understanding the creativity of artistes from various parts of the world.
"I just love so many different types of music and so many different artistes. It's fun coming together. It's fun hearing different people and their takes on different concepts and ideas.
"It is so cool how people interpret sound differently. So, that's where it comes from, as music gives you an opportunity to express yourself. I love to see how people express themselves," he says.
Time Out 72 will be held at Vagator in Goa from December 27 to 29.
