Taking serious note of the reports of cases of hepatitis (jaundice) in the district, Health Minister J P Nadda has directed immediate dispatch of a central team consisting of one member from National Centre for Disease Control and one from Indian Council of Medical Research to assist the state government.
The two-member team will leave for Sambhalpur tomorrow.
"This team will visit the affected areas, meet the field- level officers concerned and report on the epidemiological aspects of the outbreak. The team will also assess additional requirements to deal with the situation and suggest measures for prevention and containment," a Health Ministry release said today.
