The Chief Minister earlier greeted people who gathered at Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar Samathi at Pasumpon Village in the district.
Earlier special prayers were offered at the memorial. A "sengol" (sceptre) made of silver was presented to the Chief Minister on behalf of the Memorial Committee.
