Joint Council of Action of income tax employees' federation (ITEF) of Ghaziabad and Income Tax Gazetted Officers Association have called for a national-wide strike on Wednesday.
ITEF general secretary K C Shukla told PTI that 160 income tax department employees affiliated with ITEF and 20 gazetted officers related to ITGOA will abstain from their work.
The income tax department employees are protesting to scrap new pension scheme, increment of minimum pay and change in fitment formula as assured.
Their demands include grant of compassionate appointment to all, filling of vacant posts and five promotions to all.
Regularisation of casual labours and demand of equal pension to equal cadre has also been kept in the demand charter, Shukla said.
