The 52-year-old "Bloodsport" star was joined by his mother Eliana and father Eugene as he unveiled the statue in front of hundreds of fans at a special ceremony in Brussels, reported Daily Express online.

Van Damme said that he was thrilled with the life-size statue which depicted him in a fighting pose.

"Belgium is paying me back something, but really it is to pay back to the dream. So when people come by here, it is Jean-Claude Van Damme but it's a guy from the street who believed in something. I want the statue to represent that," Van Damme said.
