Addressing the World Skill Day programme at the secretariat, Das said that the priority of his government was to make the youth skilled as per the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said that skill is being provided only in those areas where opportunity of employment is there and this scheme is being connected with the institutions which provide employment, according an official release here.
Das said that skilled Jharkhand will be an able Jharkhand, adding it's a new beginning for not only Jharkhand but also for the entire country.
It also includes the increase in the purchasing power of the people, Das said, adding the government is spending Rs 700 crore on this scheme and it has an important place in the state's annual budget, reflecting the commitment to the scheme.
Das said that the biggest concern of the youth is employment and post independence the prime minister has for the first time taken cognizance of the issue at this level that he created a new ministry of skill development.
He said that in the initial stage 15 women each of the 32,000 villages of the state are being imparted skill training. This will create a force of four lakh and eighty thousand enabled women who will become the new faces of rural Jharkhand.
The chief minister said in the coming days the state government will also employ 50,000 youth in different departments.
Appreciating the prime minister's vision, Das said that the prime minister inaugurated MUDRA scheme on October 2, 2015 and today lakhs of beneficiaries are owner of self-business and they are providing employment to many people.
The additional chief secretary Amit Khare and the Higher Education and Skill Development Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh, also addressed the youth.
Khare said by 2020 all the blocks of the state will have an ITI, which will help the youth in modern training of different skills.
