Jharkhand government today completed two years with Chief Minister Raghubar Das vowing to speed up developmental programmes and empowering the women and youth of the state.
Addressing a press conference, Das said that state policy was redefined resulting in opening of doors for the youth for employment.
"One of the important aspects at all levels is maintaining transparency and accountability is fixed which is very important to end corruption," Das said.
Stating that development could not be left on bureaucracy alone and people's participation should be there, Das said his government was bridging gaps between the government and the people.
Lack of electricity and food would not only hurt the families but also the state's human resource, Das said, adding that the state was abundant with natural resources which could be used for the prosperity of the people.
The government was working in the electricity sector to provide 24 hours of power. Thirty out of the 38 lakh people would be provided with electricity by 2018, he said.
Stating that 60 to 70 per cent people live in villages, Das said his government would focus on village economy, developing it through cottage industry so nobody would leave their homes.
The government was working towards that endeavour, he added.
Emphasising projects pertaining to water, electricity, knowledge, security and people as critical, Das said through coordinated efforts they could be materialised.
On demonetisation, Das said that 34 panchayats in the state have become cashless.
He said his government was determined to root out corruption and that there was no stain on anybody in the last two years.
Das said that law and order had improved and called upon all the officials to meet the expectations of the people.
Das said that the 2017/18 budget would change the shape of the villages.
The other achievements were Dharti Abba Hatia-Ernakulam Express, simplification of CNT/SPT acts, Rakhsa, setting up of Shakti University, planting of three crore saplings, 33 per cent reservation in police recruitment, increase of critical ailment list from 17 to 85 disease and 40,000 recruitments, he added.
