Jharkhand govt delegation makes investment pitch in Shanghai

A delegation of Jharkhand government and corporate honchos today showcased investment opportunities in the state to Chinese investors at Shanghai, underlining the growing ties between the two fastest growing economies.
The 15-member delegation, led by R K Srivastava, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Energy, Jharkhand, concluding its two-day visit to the Chinese city today.
As one of India's most investor-friendly states with thrust on Infrastructure, Jharkhand talked of upcoming mega projects and big-ticket investment opportunities, an official release said here.
The delegation held business interactions with Shanghai-based large corporate groups with interest in infrastructure, technology, construction, mining, heavy engineering and machinery, among others.
The delegation also met Yang Jiarong, Chairman of China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Shanghai to promote partnership between China and Jharkhand.
Jiarong affirmed that CCPIT will certainly extend their full support in acquainting Chinese companies about the opportunities of investing in Jharkhand, the release said.
Srivastava addressed a gathering of investors and highlighted that Jharkhand has abundant raw materials, qualified and skilled human resource, conducive industrial and business policies and visionary leadership.
He said today Jharkhand is the most investment-ready state with clear vision and roadmap to achieve economic leadership in our country.
The "Momentum Jharkhand" Global Investors' Summit 2017 is aimed at establishing Jharkhand as a premier investment destination for both foreign as well as domestic investors.
Sunil Kumar Barnwal, Secretary, Department of Industries, Mines and Geology, Government of Jharkhand, made a detailed multi-sector presentation on investment opportunities in Jharkhand.
Yang Jianrong, Chairman, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Shanghai urged Chinese investors to participate in the Momentum Jharkhand Global Investors' Summit 2017 in a big way.
The delegation explored the possibility and held discussions for a collaboration in engineering design and industrial planning, as Shanghai is recognised the world over for its rapid progress in large infrastructure like urban infrastructure, skyscrapers, landscape design, riverfront, industrial complexes, waste water treatment etc, the release said.
The two-day Momentum Jharkhand Global Investors' Summit 2017, February 16-17, 2017 will aim at showcasing the strengths of Jharkhand, and provide a global platform for interaction with Indian industry leaders, policy makers, investors and other stakeholders.
