Hearing a bunch of petitions against the MCI decision to cut the seats, the bench of acting Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice P P Bhatt pronounced the interim stay in the court sans any advocate.
The students, who have been protesting against the decision, will be able to enter in the original capacity of seats in Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Ranchi-150 seats), Pataliputra Medical College and Hospital (Dhanbad-100 seats) and Mahatma Gandhi Medical College (Jamshedpur-100 seats).
The petitioners submitted to the court that the colleges and the government will comply with the inspection report soon.
Meanwhile, the Advocate Association of Jharkhand continued its "boycott" of the court of Chief Justice from August 22 as Justice Patel allegedly refused to meet a delegation of the association.
