The Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today demanded a judicial probe into the clashes between police and Sikh youth here, in which one person was killed.
"The probe should be held by high power judicial committee headed by a sitting judge of the High Court so that truth is known to everybody about the conspiracy and killing of Jagjeet Singh yesterday in police firing," JKNPP President, Balwant Singh Mankotia told reporters here today.
He accused the state government of "trying to play hide and seek with the people of Jammu by holding the so-called inquiry by a government servant".
He congratulated the people of Jammu and particularly the youth for maintaining unity among the people.
Mankotia also appealed to the political, social groups and NGOs to work jointly to maintain communal harmony so that the conspirators who "intend to disturb peace in Jammu are exposed before the people".
