The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha activists today burnt an effigy of the Narendra Modi government protesting the hike in prices of petrol, diesel, LPG cylinders and rail fare.
Led by Ranchi city president Antu Tirkey, JMM activists marched to Albert Ekka Square and burnt the effigy.
"The hike in prices of petrol, diesel, LPG and train ticket and freight rates reflects the Modi government's anti-people stance... Instead of taking steps to eliminate poverty, the central government is out to finish the poor," Tirkey said.
