The other demands of the association included adhering to hostel manual for appointment of hostel wardens, reappointment of a professor who was removed without following procedures, and withdrawal of an illegal enquiry against a professor.
"Stop the illegal inquiry against Prof. Nivedita Menon, stop re-opening of Executive Council-ratified decisions and retrospective application of rules, and end arbitrary and humiliating procedures in wardenship renewal," JNUTA secretary Pradeep Shinde urged the administration, in a release.
Prof. Menon is accused of addressing some protesting students in violation of rules.
"The JNUTA wishes to remind the administration that the varsity is no one's personal fiefdom. It is an institution that belongs to the people and we are all collectively responsible for ensuring that it delivers on the purpose for which it exists," the association said in the memorandum.
