The 29-year-old "Dilwale" star, who essays the role of a cop in his upcoming action-adventure, said he enjoyed working with John as he is an experienced actor when it comes to action.
"John is a bonafide action star of this country and it's great to do action films with him as his experience comes as handy, he has lot of knowledge about safety measures and everything," Varun said.
Calling 43-year-old "Rocky handsome" star, an actor with full of patience, Varun said, "He always used to calm me down on the sets whenever I had to perform any stunt or do action scenes.
Varun also talked about their bonding on the sets and said he considers John as his elder brother.
"John is like my elder brother and the kind of bond we have developed in real life will be surely seen on the screen."
"Dishoom" will hit theatres this Friday. It also stars Jacqueline Fernandez in the lead role.
