The Renny Harlin-directed film, which has just begun shooting in China, will be produced by Chan, 60, with Brian Gatewood, Esmond Ren, Damien Saccani and Charlie Coker, reported Deadline.
The film is about Hong Kong detective, played by Chan, who teams up with a mouthy American gambler (Knoxville) to save his niece and take down the city's most notorious criminal.
The film is shooting in Inner Mongolia, Beijing, Hong Kong, Macau and Guangxi.
