The incident took place in Chirag Dilli and the victim has been identified as Jehangir Ali of Asian Age.
The journalist was on way to Chirag Dilli when the SUV hit him at around 12:30 am yesterday. The driver of the SUV fled the spot soon after the accident.
However, a group of youths passing by spotted Ali on the road and took him to AIIMS Trauma Centre.
The youths also managed to take down the number of the fleeing SUV following which police managed to track down the driver Sunil, who was arrested later under charges of rash and negligent driving.
Ali broke his right arm in the incident.
