The meeting earlier scheduled for October 3 was postponed as Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar had offered to hold talks with leaders of the BJP to break the impasse in view of their insistence on calling Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister P Chidambaram as witnesses before the Joint Parliamentary Committee.
Chacko told PTI here that the Speaker had held talks with BJP members of the committee, but declined to divulge the outcome.
BJP members in JPC had walked out in the last two meetings accusing Chacko of being biased when he refused to take a call on calling the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister as witnesses.
They had also threatened that if the Chairman did not give an assurance on calling the Prime Minister, all the BJP members would resign, Chacko said.
He said Vahanvati would be appearing before the JPC in the coming meeting.
