Acting on a complaint, a vigilance team led by the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ajit Kumar Singh laid a trap and arrested Ajit Kumar, junior engineer (land conservation) from his residence in Biharsharif town as soon as he took Rs 30,000 as bribe from the complainant, an official release said.
The vigilance sleuths seized an additional cash of Rs 1.67 lakh from Kumar's residence, it said.
Kumar had demanded a bribe of the above mentioned sum to clear pending bills of complainant Ajay Kumar, a native of Kharjama village under Chhabilapur police station area of Nalanda district, the release added.
Khan had demanded bribe of Rs 10,000 for issuing the receipt of the land belonging to Chaudhary, the release said.
