State-run Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd (KTCL) has suffered a loss of more than Rs 22 lakh in the fiscal 2017-18 because of frequent breakdown of buses run by it, the assembly was informed today.
In a written reply tabled in the House, Transport Minister Sudin Dhavaliakr said the total loss suffered by KTCL due to frequent breakdowns of buses is Rs 22.20 lakh for the financial year 2017-18.
He was replying to a question by Luizinho Faleiro (Congress).
The minister said the KTCL does not face frequent breakdowns of its vehicles during day-to-day transportation.
"The breakdown rate is one per 40,000 km which is well within the limit," he added.
