Karan Johar celebrates 35 years of Dharma Productions

Dharma Productions today completed 35 years and chairman of the Yash Johar-founded company, Karan Johar is ecstatic to have achieved this feat.
Founded in 1976, Dharma produced several commercially and critically successful films, with Amitabh Bachchan, Shatrughan Sinha starrer "Dostana" being the first.
"It's #35YearsOfDharma today.... My fathers goodwill and his blessings are my biggest strength.... The company stands on his vision today," Karan tweeted
"I thank every member of the dharma family for their love,loyalty and commitment to the company.... #35YearsOfDharma," he added.
The turning point for the production house was Karan's first directorial venture, "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai", followed by "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham..." and "Kal Ho Naa Ho" that marked the successful debut of filmmaker Nikhil Advani, who praised Karan for taking the legacy forward and congratulated him.
"@karanjohar Yash Uncle would've been a very proud father today. Congrats. #35YearsOfDharma," he wrote.
Bollywood's young brigade, including Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra, who had a glamourous launch with Dharma's "Student of the Year", also took to the micro-blogging site to mark the occasion.
"It's all about loving your family! I am fortunate to have to! Thank you @karanjohar @apoorvamehta18 for being the BEST EVER #35yearsofDharma," tweeted Alia.
Varun, who has done two films with the production house wrote, "The company that I started my career with completes 35 years today. Thank you @karanjohar for giving us such amazing films #35YearsOfDharma."
Last seen in "Brothers" made under Dharma, actor Sidharth thanked the banner for giving him the the star like life.
"Happy 35 to Dharma production thank you for my career and all your good karma @karanjohar student for life. #35YearsOfDharma love," he wrote.
Dharma Productions is currently geared up for the release of "Shaandaar", starring Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
They are also working on Shakun Batra's family film "Kapoor & Sons" and Karan Johar's directorial venture, "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil".
The company has confirmed producing Ayan Mukerji's currently untitled superhero film, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt and Gauri Shinde's project with Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt in lead roles.
