"I can't comment on all that," was the DMK patriarch's response to a question on Singh's name jointly floated along with those of former president A P J Abdul Kalam and former Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee by SP president Mulayam Singh Yadav and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
He said he would propose a name after the present confusion ended and he was not sure about how things will change in the context of Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee's name doing the rounds.
"I had proposed his (Pranab Mukherjee) name. Don't know how it will change," he told 'Headlines Today'.
"(Once) all this confusion ends, I will propose a name," he said.
