Gupta, who today called on Chief Minister with a charter of demands, said that the transport sector that includetaxis, buses, trucks has been hit badly by the unrest in the valley for the last many months.
It however demanded Amnesty to transporters on Passenger Tax. "It may not be out of place to mention that the conditions in which the transporters are working as every time there isunrest & turmoil or border firing, this sector gets hit on the very first day", Gupta said.
"We would request you to pass on necessary directions to the Finance Ministry and other concerned to issue necessary notification announcing Amnesty for Passenger Tax", he said.
On the issue of laws for Physically Challenged, he said "We would like to request to your goodselves please to get necessary amendments in the Disability Act of the State and bring it at par with the Disability Act of Government of India which would be great steps towards helping suffering humanity" CCIJ also called for parking space at Residency Road in Jammu, the main hub of shopping in the city.
