Kathihar jail releases wrong man

In a major goof up, the authorities of Katihar jail released the prime accused in his wife's murder case instead of his father who was granted bail in the same case by a local court, official sources said.
The jail authorities released Krishna Singh, who is a prime accused in his wife's murder case filed last year, and not his father Madan Singh, who was granted bail by a court in the same case yesterday.
Realising the mistake, jail officials swung into action and caught Krishna Singh from Salmari police station area eight hours later and released Madan Singh, the sources said.

Police had arrested Krishna Singh and Madan Singh, natives of Damdamapur village under Salmari police station area, last year in connection with the murder of Krishna Singh's wife.
An embarrassed District Magistrate Prakash Kumar promised stringent action against those responsible.
