A senior government official said that the chief secretary has been asked to mediate and get the amount that is due to the MCD in the form of service charge to be released by DDA.
"Delhi Chief Minister has directed chief secretary to immediately convene a meeting of Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and three MCD commissioners following the authority's letter on dues to Delhi government. In a letter to Delhi government DDA has admitted that it has to pay service charges to MCDs and this can be worked out mutually," a senior government official said.
Earlier today the Kejriwal had rejected the claims that the Delhi government owes any money to the civic bodies and instead asked the DDA, which comes under the Centre, to release Rs 1,500 crore as property tax to the MCDs.
Even as the AAP ruled Delhi Government and BJP ruled civic bodies are tied in a slug fest over funds transfer, sanitation workers has abstained from work in the National Capital adding to woes of the people due to piling up garbage and concerns over unhygienic conditions prevailing over a week.
