Kejriwal did not act in haste to resign as Delhi CM: Shazia

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, Shazia Ilmi said here today that the party chief Arvind Kejriwal had not acted in haste by resigning as the chief minister of Delhi.
"I don't think that AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal has acted in haste by resigning from the post of chief minister of Delhi on the issue of Jan Lokpal as I was party to the decision and it (Jan Lokpal) is our major issue," Shazia told reporters.
She said had the party remained in power after it was not being allowed to table the Jan Lokpal bill, then media would have said today that he (Kejriwal) was "greedy for power".

Shazia termed as "malicious campaign" the Opposition's charges, especially that of BJP that Kejriwal has run away from the ground after resigning as the Chief Minister.
She said it appears that the party was unable to convince effectively to the people why it had resigned on the issue of Jan Lokpal and also blamed a section of media for it.
"It was a matter of principle for us and we thought that people would be happier if we quit on the issue of Jan Lokpal," she said.
Earlier, Shazia addressed a rally in support of AAP's Indore candidate, Anil Trivedi and questioned the rationale behind raising the slogan 'Har-Har Modi' in support of BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

She said that people want power, water, roads, health and education and what will they do with "Har-Har Modi", she asked.
