"Steps would be taken to speed up registration process of new companies and provide them licences to do business in the state. The government wish to grant licences to companies in a month's time after submitting application for the same," he said inaugurating a World Trade Centre (WTC) at the Infopark.
The iconic WTC set up by the Brigade Group would help redraw the picture of Kerala in the world industrial map, he said.
Brigade Group holds the WTC licences for all the major cities in the southern states including Bengaluru, Kochi, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram and Hyderabad.
WTC Kochi is Brigade Group's second operational WTC in the South after the WTC Bengaluru.
The group said the WTC Kochi, a licensed member of the World Trade Centres Association (WTCA), New York, will showcase the strengths of the region and the state in different economic sectors such as Industry, Tourism, Agriculture, Fisheries, Bio Technology, healthcare and others. It will complement the region to expand their businesses globally and contribute to its robust growth with the help of the strong WTC network.
WTC Kochi President Balaram Menon said the center will promote the region as a global destination for international business and investment by complementing the efforts of the local chambers and associations and help them to traverse the global stage.
He said it would generate employment for more than 7000 people.
Brigade Enterprises Chairman and Managing Director M R Jaishankar said the WTC Kochi was poised to change the socio-economic scenario of the city and put it prominently on the world map.
"It promises to change the way office spaces are viewed in the city by providing an international environment to global and Indian IT/ITes companies giving their businesses a real boost," he said.
