The Kerala Cabinet today decided to introduce a scheme "Gahan" to provide relief to those who have taken loans from the co-operative sector.
Speaking to reporters after a Cabinet meeting here, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said government has decided not to implement an order to levy registration fees on loans taken.
The State Government took this decision after receiving complaints from the co-operative sector, pointing out that the current relief benefit would be lost if the registration fee of two per cent of the loan amount was charged.
The deadline of the moratorium declared on debts pertaining to Endosulfan victims, which expires today, would be extended for six more months, he said.
It has been decided to provide one acre of land from Attipra and five acres from Technocity in Andoorkonam for the 'Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence'.
