NRI sentenced to life imprisonment till death

A court here today sentenced an NRI to life imprisonment till death for murdering his mother- in-law and brother-in-law in June last year.
Additional Session Judge JS Bhinder handed the sentence to NRI Bhupinder Singh after finding him guilty of having murdered his mother-in-law Surinder Kaur and Lovepreet Singh, his brother-in-law. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on Bhupinder.
The court acquitted his alleged accomplice in the crime, Mandeep Singh, of all charges citing lack of evidence.
According to the prosecution, Bhupinder, who had moved to Germany to earn his livelihood, developed strained relations with his wife Navdeep Kaur.

On June 2, 2012 he called his mother-in-law and brother- in-law to his residence to settle the dispute with his wife. But flying into a rage during the course of the meeting, Bhupinder shot dead the duo.
