"Khadse rejoining the ministry will be a matter of joy for us," Revenue Minister Chandrakant Patil told reporters in Jalgaon district, from where Khadse hails.
"The Zoting panel has submitted its report, which is now with the chief secretary," Patil said.
"The chief minister and chief secretary will take a call on the issue," said Patil, who was elevated to the number two position in the Devendra Fadnavis ministry after Khadse's exit.
Over a year after accusations of impropriety in a land deal prompted his resignation from the Maharashtra cabinet, the Zoting inquiry commission appointed by Fadnavis to probe the allegations recently submitted its report. Its contents have not been made public yet.
The panel was originally expected to submit its report within three months, but was given extensions.
