Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today exhorted IAS, IFS and IPS officers of the state to be sensitive towards people and ensure that the deserving got the benefit of various welfare schemes and programmes of the government.
"This is vital for realising the vision of the state government to provide a transparent and graft-free administration to the people of the state. The sole aim of the state government is to serve the people," he said, while addressing senior IAS, IFS and IPS officers at the state-level function organised to mark the 12th Civil Services Day at Panchkula, near here.
On this occasion, the chief minister also honoured eight officers for their outstanding services.
Underlining the role of IAS, IFS and IPS officers in the administrative system of the country, Khattar said they are held in high esteem by the people and should discharge their duties with a sense of responsibility, accountability and impartiality.
Describing the job of civil servants as challenging, he said while targets were set by the political leadership, the responsibility to achieve these rests with the officers.
They should evolve an effective mechanism to resolve inter-department issues to ensure smooth functioning of the system, Khattar was quoted as saying in an official release.
The chief minister said various e-governance initiatives, including opening of gram sachivalyas, common service centres, antyodya kendras, has been taken to not only help in keeping a check on corruption but also enable people to save time, money and energy.
Khattar said sex ratio in the state which was 850 girls per 1,000 boys has now reached 950 girls per 1,000 boys.
