Khattar suspends officer over illegal mining complaint

Taking serious note of a complaint concerning illegal mining, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today suspended the District Mining Officer of Mahendergarh, an official statement said.
He also ordered the suspension of a bus conductor following a complaint of eve-teasing, it read.
Addressing the grievances of people at a 'Janta Darbar' held here, Khattar said the state government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy on corruption.
He directed officers of the Public Health Engineering Department to lodge FIRs against those drawing water illegally from government pipelines, the release said.
Khattar claimed that line losses of power corporations had been brought down to 24 per cent from 30 per cent after the formation of the present BJP government.

"We have provided 24-hour electricity in four districts of the state and it is our endeavour to stop power theft within two years so that we can provide electricity at low rates to the people," Khattar added.
Speaking on the zero-tolerance policy adopted by his government, Khattar said, "Some people are having problems with the new transparent system being adopted in governance and their problems are going to grow further.
