Congress spokesperson Sachin Sawant said, "There is a major scam in the procurement of tur. The committee appointed by the government to provide details on sellers of tur have submitted a list of those 800 people. That list has Khotkar's name as well."
In the entire Jalna district, from where Khotkar hails, around 4.5 lakh tonnes tur is cultivated and out of that over one lakh tonnes has been sold by about 800 farmers.
"We demand a high-level inquiry as to how such huge quantum of tur was sold in such a short span," he said.
