Khurja Power Plant will boost industrial growth in Noida: min

Union minister Mahesh Sharma today said that the 1,320 MW Khurja power plant at Arnia block here will boost industrial growth in Noida and benefit around a dozen districts in UP.
It will be developed by Tehri Hydro Development Corporation (THDC) and Uttar Pradesh power corporation limited (UPPCL).
It will be set up on 1,201 acre land and total project cost is Rs 10,498 crores. Gautam Buddha Nagar district comprising Noida and Greater Noida will be able to get 24X7 power supply, Sharma said.
The plant will lead to industrial growth and agriculture production too will increase as farmers will be able to get enough power supply to run tubewells for irrigation of fields, said Sharma.

Lakhs of employment will be generated for the local youth and others, said Sharma.
