The tribunal asked Shriram General Insurance Co Ltd, which had insured the offending tempo, to pay Rs 16,31,920 to the family of Delhi resident Ashok, who died after being hit by the vehicle.
"The entire criminal case record supports and corroborates the case of the claimants in all its material particulars," MACT Presiding Officer Deepak Jagotra said.
"The petitioners (family of deceased) are awarded the total amount of Rs 16,31,920....The awarded amount be deposited by respondent no. 3 (insurance company)," the tribunal said.
