In a meeting held here today, the employees raked up the assurances given by the government to their leadership regarding their security and other issues before resuming their duties in Kashmir.
The meeting was held under the banner of All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC), an organisation of Kashmiri migrants.
It was attended by the employees recruited under Prime Minister's Special Recruitment Package for Kashmiri Migrants and other migrant employees.
The APMCC leaders said that a delegation of the organisation met Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in Srinagar on March 26 and submitted a memorandum of demands to her which included releasing salaries of the employees and their security concerns in Kashmir Valley, a statement issued here said.
"We were assured by the chief minister that our concerns regarding security and salaries would be looked into and necessary orders issued wherever necessary," said Chairman of the organisation Vinod Pandit.
National Spokesperson of the organisation King C Bharati said they held a series of meetings with different ministers and leaders of the ruling party and raised various issues of the employees, particularly suspension and show-cause notices issued to them by their concerned heads of the departments.
Bharti said other issues regarding non-implementation of court directions, undue delay by SSRB and security issues were also raised to which the government "responded positively".
He said hundreds of migrant employees were running from "pillar to post" for their salaries while some heads of the departments were "forcing" them to resume their duties without providing any mechanism of their security under current circumstances of unrest in the Valley.
